Leila Duclos is a rising star in vocal jazz. This young artist has always been immersed in the universe of Django Reinhardt. Daughter of guitarist Cyril Duclos, she was rocked by gypsy music. In 2001, at the age of 10, she recorded her first title “Le petit cosmonaute”. Subsequently, she quickly took up singing and guitar and accompanied her father on tour. She began her career in 2011, aged 19, where she recorded her first album

“Interaction”, an album of original compositions where we discover her deep voice as well as her mastery of the scat in the tradition of Ella Fitzgerald, and travels through festivals and jazz clubs in France and Europe.

In 2018, she was noticed by a great name in gypsy jazz, the famous guitarist Raphael Fays, who invited her to the stage of the Alhambra as part of his musical show “Paris-Seville”. This same year marked the beginning of a friendship and a prolific collaboration as a duo with the guitarist. The young artist was then hired by another emblematic figure of gypsy jazz, Ninine Garcia, on her album “Héritages” (©ContinuoJazz) alongside Liane Folly, Thomas Dutronc, Stéphane Sanséverino, Yvan Le Bolloch and Noé Reinhardt. Following her participation, she signed with the same label and released her second album, “Fille du feu” (©ContinuoJazz) in March 2022 in collaboration with big names in French jazz, Jean-My Truong, Pierre Bertrand, Ninine Garcia, Raphael Fays, Steeve Laffont and Line Kruse on brass and string arrangements. The disc obtained rave reviews from critics (Guitarist Magazine, Francofans, Jazznews) and was elected Jazz Magazine “Revelation” in the April 2022 issue.

Leila Duclos then went on tour in France and Italy, the album was enthusiastically received by the Italian public and the city of Salerno (Italy) awarded her an art prize. The artist then returns to his native lands, at the 2022 edition of the Jazz in Marciac “Off” festival. Her performance reveals her and she is invited to join the 2023 program under the big top, where she will share the stage with the “Florin Niculescu Gipsy All stars” with Christian Escoudé and Martin Taylor in the first part of Thomas Dutronc, Stochelo Rosenberg & Rocky Gresset in front of nearly ten thousand people. The 2023/2024 season will also mark the start of several American “Daughter of Fire” tours in September 2023 and then in Winter 2024 in Chicago and New York.
